Move to Work

Airbnb lists Medicine Hat as an affordable workation spot

Working from home has been celebrated by both employees and employers over the last few years. A once mandatory move during 2020 has evolved into an everyday normality for those who work digitally. People now find themselves traveling to cities for a change in scenery and bring their work along with them.

Those who need a getaway without the added stress of taking days off can pack their computer and work in a nearby city, and Airbnb recently listed the best and most affordable workations in Canada.

Medicine Hat was listed second with an average of $41.30 USD per night. Airbnb studied the average price per night for long-term stays to find affordable destinations for those who seek an adventurous and balanced living in North America.

Along with affordability, Medicine Hat is known for its outdoor culture. With 155-kilometres of paved trails, three spots with thrilling mountain bike trails, a river to float and/or kayak, historic sites and provincial parks with coulees to admire, a break from technology is effortlessly accomplished once the work day ends.

Known as Canada’s Sunniest City, the sunshine eagerly invites visitors outside, and Airbnbs are found throughout the area, in the historic downtown, as well as just outside the city with an authentic prairie view.
