Medicine Hat College

Medicine Hat College is a regional community college of approximately 3,000 students, offering business, engineering and trades, education, health, and creative courses. Nearly 70% of enrolment is from Alberta residents. International students represent another significant cohort, representing 11% of the student body thanks to a well-established international student program. In addition to on-campus learning opportunities, Medicine Hat College offers education abroad opportunities.

Medicine Hat College’s Entrepreneur Development Centre partners with regional economic development organizations to support the city’s entrepreneurial residents by providing training, advice, or funding.

Medicine hat Districts

Three school districts provide plenty of primary and secondary learning opportunities for all types of learners, and together are among the city’s largest employers.Medicine Hat School District 76 offers public schooling for over 7,000 students at 15 schools and three outreach and alternative programs. The district employs approximately 750 education professionals. Medicine Hat Catholic School Board serves 2,600 students and operates nine schools.

Prairie Rose Rural District

Prairie Rose School Division serves as Southeast Alberta’s rural school board, serving 3,300 students operates 17 Public Schools, 1 Outreach School, 1 Mennonite Alternative School and 18 Hutterite Colony Schools throughout its 29,000 square kilometer region.
